About me

Grounded in my  life-long experimentation with textiles, I utilize fabrics as a means to visualize my internal lore and stories. I explore the layered nature of life by working with layers of dyed vintage fabrics. By pleating, gathering, and pulling apart fabrics I delve into figurative gaps in expectation and literal gaps in memory. I incorporate materials such as silk, cotton, linen, artificial fabrics and waste materials to visually illustrate my diaristic experiences with a diversity of crises ranging from near familymembers memoryloss to the loss of loved ones. By embroidering highly detailed poetry into the work, I conjure feelings of not only melancholy and frustration, but also hope, love, desire and perspective. With an emphasis on memory the delicate and detailed nature of my work reveals a multifaceted window into how I experience contemporary life within the framework of family and community.
